Im at a loss for why people focus on Burning Arrow and hate it (being hit by it that is) so much compared to any number of skills. Its a great attack, its awsome, it does damage, it causes burning, ouch my face, im on fire, etc.

But honestly, I dont get why people have become so mad at this skill in particular. I can land a kill with many skills, but BA is the only one that I immediatly get insulted for using within seconds. Why?

My main two characters I will play PvP with are my Ranger and my Paragon. In my n00b opinion a Paragon with Cruel Spear followed by Blazing Spear blows away any combo using Burning Arrow out of the water.

I ask mainly because I love the skill and like being able to skirmish with my Ranger and fear that the skill is going to get hit with the nerf bat any day now when I dont think its really justified. Other than being easey to use perhaps, why is this skill so hated? Is it overpowered and I am just bias because I enjoy it?

Burning arrow is a great skill, widley considerd the best ranger elite, it just makes the rest of the bow attacks looks really really bad...

I can only guess it's hated so because every ranger bar from here to Kryta runs it. As you said, it's a powerful attack - among the best the Ranger has - but BA bars are rather... common nowadays.

I use it to great effect with my Sundering build I'm working on, I can do damage of up to 90 (160 if you count the burning, this being on casters mind you) and even more on elevated terrain of course.

But I can also see why such a powerful skill would be criticized, never the less my build wouldn't do nearly as much damage without it. But my build is dedicated to pure damage pressure so whether people hate it or not, i'll be using it.

As Ensign said, Burning Arrows is overpowered if it's overpowered for a Ranger to kill out of a ranger spike.

The skill is fine in strength overall for an elite, though it is really good. What it does is just make an extremely versatile skirmish character able to kill on his own, and that's scary.

Personally i don't think it's really overpowered, but the popular BA Ranger template has to be about the most rounded strong single character build in the entire game. It's incredibly hard to control a BA Ranger 1v1 in a skirmish for most characters.

But i think it has more to do with Mending Touch than BA really... If Mending Touch didn't work with Expertise to be nearly free, a Ranger that had to use Mend Touch regularly to get rid of blinds, cripple and other conditions wouldn't have enough energy to use BA-Savage at will.

nobody hates BA, everyone knows it's a very good skill, i don't really know where people have insulted you, random arenas maybe, either way, no good PvP will ever moan at you for using BA, they might be sick of it because there's so few ranger elites to use, but hatred? not really.

anyways, this is kinda pointless...x_X
